Adhering to the value concept that “do standardized things and set examples for the world; control time and do things efficiently; master outstanding skills and excel in virtue; seek for factualism and innovation”,the School of Rail Transit takes the cultivation of virtue and talent asthe fundamental task. Closely focusing on the development needs of the rail transit industry, the school offers 9 disciplines for urban rail transit and national railway, i.e. urban rail transportation operation management, electromechanical technology of urban rail transit, communication signal technology of urban rail transit, application technology of urban rail vehicle, power supply and distribution technology of urban rail transit (intelligent power supply management), automatic control of railway signal, high-speed railway passenger service, railway traffic operation management, and railway communication and information technology, all of which help to cultivate technical and skilled talents with complicate skills of “sophisticated skills, good communication skills, and strong management skills” for rail transit management, operation and maintenance.
The school currently has 70 faculty members, including more than 30 with senior or higher professional titles and more than 60 with master’s degrees or above. The proportion of teachers as party members is 95%, and the proportion of teacherswith double qualified certification is over 96%. In recent years, our teachers have led and participated in 23 provincial level research projects and 35 college-level projects, publishing 70 high-level textbooks and 209 papers and applying for 42 patents. Our teachers and students have received over 40 provincial level or above awards by actively participating in various competitions. We have provided over 30 technical research and development and technical consulting services to industry enterprises, and have completed various types of training and appraisal for over 5700 people. The school has established two “Sanqin Craftsman” studios, hiring 3 industry leading talents, 7 professional leaders of enterprises, and more than 30 part-time teachers of enterprises.
The school conducts cooperative education with more than 30 well-known domestic enterprises, such as Xi’an Rail Transit Group, Shaanxi Province Railway Group, Hangzhou MTR, Shenzhen Metro, China Railway First Group Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., Xi’an Quanlutonghao Equipment Research Co., Ltd., to carry out order training for relevant management and technical posts of subway and high-speed railway, constantly deepening the integration of production and education and promoting cooperation between the school and enterprises to improve talent training quality.
The school has conducted diversified cooperation with rail industry enterprises, and has built a rail transit training center docking with post groups, with real professional atmosphere and advanced equipment. At present, we have built more than 20 professional training rooms on campus and more than 30 off-campus training bases combining working and learning, including urban rail OCC, station control, AFC ticketing, urban rail operation management, physique training, vehicle simulation driving, platform and track, traction and power supply, station electromechanical equipment, signal fundamental equipment, electrics and electronics, PLC and integrated simulation, with equipment value of over 40 million yuan. The excellent training environment and advanced equipment effectively guarantee the cultivation of students’ professional abilities.
Our students have successively participated in various national skills competitions such as National Urban Rail Transit Operation Competition, National Design and Application Skills of Rail Transit Signal Control System Competition, Urban Rail Transit Operation Management Technology Event of the Belt and Road and BRICS Competition, Transportation Service Etiquette Competition, Electronic Design Competition and “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, winning more than 30 prizes of first, second, and third degrees. The students trained are highly favored by employers due to their high comprehensive quality, strong professional skills, and sufficient development potential.
